Why do so many Pakistani students pick Europe?

Europe offers low or zero tuition at many public universities, English-taught degrees and post-study job-search permits. The trade-off is that most countries need a bachelor's degree or one year of university for direct entry, plus proof of funds for the visa.

Our Study in Europe page compares nine European countries side by side. Germany is the most popular because public universities charge almost no tuition, though the visa needs a blocked account. Many German applications also run through uni-assist.

Students who want a full scholarship in Europe usually look at DAAD, Erasmus Mundus and Stipendium Hungaricum. Each one has its own deadline and document list.

Is the UK still worth it for Pakistani students in 2026?

The UK is worth it for students who want a one-year master's degree and the Graduate visa after study. It is the most expensive option on this list. Funds, the English test and the visa interview must all be planned carefully.

Start with the UK student visa page for funds and documents. Then read the UK scholarships page to lower the cost.

If you are choosing a level, compare Master's in UK and Bachelor's in UK. Before you submit, practise the UK visa interview questions.

Which Asian destinations suit Pakistani students on a smaller budget?

Turkey, China and Malaysia have lower tuition and living costs than the UK or New Zealand. They accept many FSc students and have strong scholarship routes such as Türkiye Bursları and the CSC scholarship. MBBS students also look closely at Turkey and China.

Turkey's Türkiye Bursları and China's CSC scholarship are both fully funded. Medical students should compare MBBS in China and MBBS in Turkey against PMDC rules.

Malaysia is popular for its English-taught degrees and the online EMGS visa process. Read the Malaysia student visa page and the universities in Malaysia list before applying.

How should a Pakistani student choose the right destination?

Start with your budget and the funds you can show, then your marks and degree level. Next check the English test rules and post-study work. Shortlist two or three countries and read each full guide before you pay any application fee.

  1. 1Set the budget. Add tuition, living costs and the funds the visa needs, all in rupees.
  2. 2Check eligibility. FSc, a 14-year degree and a 16-year degree open different doors. Get IBCC equivalence or HEC attestation ready early.
  3. 3Pick the English route. Compare PTE and IELTS or check if an MOI letter is accepted.
  4. 4Look for scholarships. See all scholarships for Pakistani students before you rule out a country.
  5. 5Shortlist and verify. Read the full country guide and confirm rules on the official government page. Our Faisalabad office can then check your shortlist for free.
